I get it, you’re not a horror fan. That’s fine. Neither am I really. Don’t get me wrong, the teenager me loved horror movies but what gets passed as horror now is a joke. But did you ever love watching TV and seeing themed nights, TV hosts you could relate to or even just remember when it used to be fun? Joe Bob remembers.

This wasn’t just on TNT, it’s happened across every cable/satellite channel in the US and UK. I get it, they think it’s quantity that will bring in the profits not quality. Pump out enough cheap content and people will have to watch it, right? Nope.

That’s why, even though extremely frustrating at the time, the server crash was important. It proved that the public are hungry for something new (well, I guess old) and are willing to commit financially to see it. Plus one of the view upsides to social media is that this type of show doesn’t have to be a ‘slow burner’, word will spread fast and as shown in the 17 year gap between ‘MonsterVision’ and ‘The last Drive in’, viewers will stay loyal as long as it stays true to it’s roots.

So the big question is, it’s proven that there's money to be made and fun to be had. Whats stopping the networks from giving this format a go? Or go ask Shudder, I bet they’ll continue to cash in on this for a long time to come.
