Fire in the Bones

Today as I was taking a walk, a sudden temptation overtook me. So, I sat me down and thought to myself how easy it is to indulge in lustful desires of the flesh; and frankly speaking it always seems pleasurable, almost taking one to paradise — as one lustful song always proclaims, falsely.

Most of the time, people who surrender to the desires of the flesh — sexual sins in particular, think they’ve analyzed and come to a conclusion of the costs they’ll have to pay. But as I thought about this, and observing the little world around me, I’m certain that the price one pays, especially for sexual sins — fornication and adultery, is far higher than one can imagine; the destruction it leaves ahead, only time will tell.

And as this temptation hovered around me, I decided, I’d rather kiss the Son and obey the Father’s Commands; after all, they aren’t grievous.
