Addressing Rising Academic Stress

10 ways to get you started

Inside the mind of a student

Have you ever felt that there was too much academic work and you were just drowning in it? Well, read on for a few quick and easy tips to manage your stress levels.

WHO has designated October 10th, as World Mental Health Day in an effort to raise awareness and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Students often go through a lot of stress while trying to deal with academic work — assignments, readings, projects, relationships, social challenges like living alone, etc. The worst part is, such stress is often overlooked. Social circumstances would rather be labelling them as lazy or not committed or not intelligent enough then accept that academic stress is a serious debilitating issue.

While we can’t change the society overnight, we can help you manage your workload a bit easier with the following tips:

Campus Resources

Engage with people regarding your issues. For example, if you have a genuine condition and you let the instructor know well in time, you’ll probably have a better chance of getting an extension than if you were to approach them at the eleventh hour. Your seniors are a great resource as well, as they have probably gone through the same issues that you are facing and come out the other end stronger and better.

Time Management Skills
Think Positive Live Positive :)
Healthy Diet
Yoga for a Healthy Lifestyle

The aforementioned ten tips may help you find yourself a comfortable niche in your hectic academic career. But besides these, if you are really going through a deeper mental agony, you may seek a therapist. Always believe in yourself, take baby steps if needed, but never give up on your dreams and above that never give up on yourself. Keep fighting for your dreams and aspirations, things will soon become brighter.
