Garage Door Opener Resolved Our Mystery

It was summer at its peak. Let alone the summer of Arizona with sultry heatwave and skin parching sun. In such a season, we were posted in a US airfield in Phoenix Arizona. I am an aeronautical engineer having served the US air force for more than 10 years. We have three kids. Schon, Harry and a daughter Linda. I gave my daughter this name as rhyming of my wife’s name that is Jacinda. After arriving at Phoenix AZ, we were given a house 3 Km away from the airfield. The house is nothing but like a haunted place. The very first night we slept inside the house, there was rattling sound issuing from the garage. The garage door was jammed closed.

My wife and my children got scared. I was unsure what there can be inside the garage door because the garage gate was rusted and unable to open plus, we didn’t have keys to its locks. My wife in a trembling voice said to me, Caprio! I called the emergency garage door opener now from Phoenix. I assured my wife and kids, there is nothing inside the garage. You should fall asleep. I have a gun and this is an American army cantonment- no criminal can dare to intrude in our house.

The sound was still knocking scaring the kids and my wife. I couldn’t sleep either that night. Little did I could manage to have- were drowsing snoozes. Following morning I woke up and my kids were too frightened to live in that house. Harry said, dad! This house looks haunted so there must be a ghost in the garage. Linda said, the evil will trap all of us- we should call the priest for an exorcism. I laughed, there is no need to exorcise. Nothing’s inside the garage. But at least we should break in to see what is happening in the garage. Jacinda added.

They came and confirmed the situation. One of the senior professionals of the garage door repairing company banged the door and it sounded like rusted and decayed. How long it’s been since it’s closed? Asked the professional from the airmen. We have been deployed here some 2 years and since then we see it closed and unattended. Using special machines and cutters they broke the rusted lock but the door was still stubborn to be open due to wear-down chain. They applied special method and machine and within half an hour the door of the garage was wide opened. There was a complicated cobweb in front and behind it, a “Raccoon” was glaring at us. That was the ghost who was petrifying us last night who made his way out of air duct.
