I have to stare at that reminder that I made for myself everyday while working on my office desk so I can deliver my tasks. That was in 2018 and my goal is: To have an early retirement by March 2019

I have to wake up, dress up, and drag myself to show up to work every day while battling with work-related depression for 2 years (2017–2019). It was confirmed when I was hospitalized for a week because of several pains but all my tests turned out to be normal. The doctor issued a medical certificate stating that I suffer from chronic occupational fatigue. He recommended that I resign or else I could get worse.

I sought more help and I paid a hefty price for counseling. I remember scribbling words on paper and answering questions which showed that indeed my self-worth has been dampened. It was recommended to cut my hair short so I will look more powerful and regain the old me which I did. It helped a bit but still, everything was fuzzy.

I feel floating every day. As soon as I enter the office, I wanted to go home. Sometimes I begin to weep while staring at my computer for no reason.

It’s an everyday and expensive struggle. My family has to come up with tricks to cheer me up. It meant nightly dining out, expensive coffee, chocolates, and weekend out of town trips so I can forget about my work problems and appreciate that they are there no matter what.

My doctor wanted me to resign. My family wanted me to resign. I wanted to resign but I was not ready.

I can easily handle the first reason but the second reduced my self-esteem from second to none.
