NFT Archaeology and the Digital Art Revolution with Adam McBride

When he is not promoting historical NFTs, McBride coaches companies to grow their online presence through TikTok and podcasts actively. He created and hosts the often #1 podcast in Costa Rica: The Costa Rica Experience. But his real talent is bringing together individuals to build communities that actively shape shared digital spaces and explore blockchain technology.

McBride describes the significance of early NFTs from a historical perspective and his journey in looking through the blockchain to uncover them. First, delving into the origins of NFTs, he covers topics such as rare Pepes and Terra Nullius, one of the earliest NFT projects on Ethereum. Next, McBride maps out the stages of NFTs through different cryptocurrencies that have led to the flourishing of the digital art space today. He even goes as far back as Namecoin, a Bitcoin derivative, where the first NFT originated.

Realizing many of these NFTs had been lost to time and remained undiscovered, in March 2021, he set out on an archeological quest. McBride and his team had specific criteria when searching for these lost treasures, overlooking a few potential NFT projects that didn’t meet the requirements. But once McBride found historical NFTs that fit the criteria, he began to release these historical NFTs into today’s marketplace. (But only after his programmer removed the game mechanics so others couldn’t steal the NFTs, which is part of the history of NFTs evolution that McBride also covers.)

And those who will benefit the most from this digital revolution are the artists.

According to McBride, the future will be the evolution of music NFTs. Fandom will be taken to a new level once the right platform launches for music NFTs, which McBride is currently building with his team. In addition, fans will be able to invest in the artists by owning part of their music’s revenue stream.
